      History of Danville Lodge No. 95

 

Danville Lodge was organized under the name Oakville Lodge No. 95 in 1848. The Grand Master granted Oakville Lodge No. 95 a dispensation to do work on October 16,1848, and appointed D.M. Dancey as Worshipful Master, Lewis H. Sadler as Senior Warden, and Edward Bracken as Junior Warden.

Dispensation continued by Grand Lodge for tweleve months- December 7, 1848.

Charter granted December 6, 1849 to Oakville Lodge No 95 located in Oakville Alabama.

 

Oakville Lodge No. 95 moved to Danville, Alabama between the months of October & December, 1859. The Lodge was located near the College at Danville.

 

On December 6, 1859 the Grand Lodge secretary offered a resolution to change the name Oakville Lodge No. 95 to Danville Lodge No. 95, and it was adopted.

 

Danville Lodge No. 95 built a new Lodge on College Street in Danville in 1956.  This is were we meet to this day.
